How it works

Thank you for taking the time to fill out our application to be considered for a grant in the CREDO Donations program. Before you begin, please review the information below for a better understanding of how our unique process works.

The Granting Process

After your organization completes an application, it will be reviewed by our team. We take great care to consider which groups are the best fit for our members. The team selects a pool of applicants each month for consideration. All CREDO employees then get to vote for the final three grantees each month based on the available group applications, current events, and more.

CREDO holds applications on file for one year, so there is no need to resubmit your application if you have applied within the year.

Once grantees have been chosen, we will schedule a phone call to further explain the process and discuss ways to maximum the potential grant amount.

CREDO members and members of the general public are invited to vote for 1, 2 or 3 of the nonprofits featured on CREDODonations.com. Those votes determine how much of the total each group receives. Grantees also participate in the process by encouraging their members to vote. The final grant amounts are determined by the percentage of votes each group receives.

Partner marketing

CREDO promotes our donations program and its monthly grant recipients to our members and prospects. We market our donations program via email, digital, social channels and our CREDO blog.

To educate our members on the groups we are funding, we create each group their own custom CREDO landing page and utilize content such as descriptions, quotes and logos in our promotions. Your organization will submit this content to be used in CREDO marketing in your grant application.

Our donations program plays an important role in our branding. CREDO therefore reserves the right to modify proposed descriptions to make sure it resonates with our audience. It is our commitment to grantees that we will not misrepresent their nonprofit mission. If we need to make significant modifications to the proposed descriptions, we will communicate the changes to the grantee before marketing it. If there is a dispute over the descriptions, CREDO has final authority over language.

Grantee Marketing

If your organization is selected as a grantee, we highly encourage you to market the CREDO Donation program to your members. We will propose easy ways for you to get the word out to your members so you get more votes, and therefore a bigger donation.

By the first working day of the month, we will provide you with a link to a web page on credodonations.com, which features your organization. We encourage you to send your traffic to this dedicated landing page utilizing email, social media, and webpage promotions.
